So, I learned something random about myself this weekend as I was dog/house sitting...
Being the kind individual I am/trying to pay it forward, I decided to shovel. I was like "yeah, I just go whip this snow into place quickly..."
Um, like an hour and a half later, I'm done. Yeah, no "quickly" was happening with this shoveling situation. "Why" you ask? For some reason - I'm extremely anal! What the heck? I don't know if it was because it was someone else's property or what, but I just had to make a perfect rectangle out of their driveway...I would not let any patches or unevenness go...weird. It was a little unnecessary, but I just could not rationalize with myself.
So, thank God I live in an apartment and shoveling is not part of my winter routine. I'd be wasting my time away!
It may have been a somber morning for all you Packer fans out there, so I thought I give some tips to help you stay positive today:
1. Just because your team lost - YOU are still a WINNER! Take a good look at yourself in the mirror, your eyes may be a little blood shoot and maybe your head aches, but keep your chin up.
2. If needed, have a little cheese and crackers tonight, and hey, maybe a beer. DON'T feel guilty, you still have things to celebrate.
3. Hey, totally boycott the superbowl, and you will have a full afternoon to accomplish something great - it's like bonus time...WOO-HOO!
a guy writes a great article called music and sushi. a quick and must read!!!

Alright folks, it's Janboree time in the 'sha! It's my home town, how can I not make an appearance=)
The goal was for my mom and I to do the Frosty 5K at 1pm on the 19th, but holy geeze, it's going to be like 8 degrees - we said "no thanks" to lung freezage.
But, I am pumped about the Pub Crawl on Saturday night. I love the Nice Ash Cigar Bar and am excited to see the revamped Bistro...newly called Neighbor's Social Club.
Check out the details:
So, being a person in a "new relationship"...it's definitely a time of tons of fun, but also learning a new person's quirks, pet peeves, interesting facts...etc...you get the picture.
So, my bf and I took our first "longer car trip"...we had a 2+ drive each way...on the way up, we were full of fun...listening to Dane Cook, stopping for food, laughing, me reading the newspaper out loud... this all took place between the hours of 1ish and 3:30...
The way back was a little different, both pretty tired, recovering from screaming children (whom I love...one of them being my 3 1/2 yr old nephew. but even with unconditional love...I give myself the condition to leave) and dogs...which typically isn't a factor...but someone, not me, is allergic...
So on the way home..we left like 8:30ish, and it was kind of snowy...so bf is concentrating on the road and I'm just kind of randomly asking questions (p.s. I'm all about getting to know this fella..."what's your biggest fear?"...."who is the most influential person in your life?")...(p.s.s. I think I enjoy this game more than him...)
So I decide to make up this little test/scientific experiment because I feel like I'm "the talker" in the relationship and I refused (at that moment) to intiate even another sentence...so, without him knowing...I took a vow of silence...
I wanted to see how long it would take for him to talk to me...any guesses?
16 minutes! And, it wasn't even a real talking, because after 16 minutes...he turned on the radio, and then was like..."you can put on what you want..." =) so, techinically, my experiment was over...
Conclusion: i think i might have given him a complex, if anything with my experiment...now, whenever there is silence...is he going to feel pressure to say something to me? I guess we'll see...
To Indie music and I'm a fan...it's definitely new to me and I've only heard two groups...both recommended by amazing people (with great taste in music)...
1. modest mouse 2. imogen heap

So, anyone who knows me understands that it's so hard for me to be frugal...so, i'm not a big resolution person, but 2008 is the year of trying to pay off debt and reduce the amount of splurges and impulsive shopping (i need to start giving myself a time limit at target)...
BUT, the good news is, one of my favorite things does not need to be laid to rest this year. I heart going out to eat and trying new restaurants. Restaurant.com has become my friend. They offer $25 gift certs for $10, but I rarely even spend the $10...if you join their e-mail list they send out promos for 30%-70% off...OH yes, I've scored many $25 gift certs for only $3. Kenosha restaurants are very limited in participation (with exception of the Wine Knot - yeah!)...but there are many participating restaurants in the Milwaukee area and I'm so excited to check them out.

Fun, fun, fun...perfect for a group of friends!
Basically the jist is that a card is drawn with a subject like "things you shouldn't play catch with" or "things not to try in the darK" or "things not to do with your computer"...
All players write down there "thing" in secret and the strips of paper are thrown into a bucket...the goal is to guess who said what...it's entertaining and loads of laughs and fun!
If you enjoy games like "Apples to Apples" - you'll love this one.
