just a little puncuation mark?  I don't think so.  This exclamation points holds huge meaning and great importance..especially when you express anger!!!!

had to put a little bandaid on my self-esteem last night with receiving this text:

"you put the ! in a waste of time!"....followed by the the f-bomb.  Thanks J.  Nothing like not understanding what really happened.  But you pissed me off so much, I didn't even want to give you an explanation.  Cheers.

Woo woo - half marathon PR!

After dying in the Lighthouse 10 mile run this summer, I needed a good race.  Looks like the speed workouts and long runs really paid off.  I wasn't quite sure still what shape I was in, so the plan was to start at 8:00 pace and work down to 7:45...

So the race starts and I'm pluggin away at a comfy pace - mile 1...7:34..alright, but it felt good.  Sure enough, mile 2, 3, 4, 5...still 7:30-7:40...I even threw in a 7:23 (and I'm attributing that mile to me almost puking in the last 1/2 miles=)...)

I honestly felt really good through 8-9.  The last 2 miles were pretty tough, but it was such a great feeling to cruise through 10 miles at 6 minutes faster than my lighthouse time!! Yeah!

So I ended up finishing in 1:39.04, which averaged out to be 7:34's.  Made this girl smile.  

p.s.  Huge credit goes out to Kim who whipped my butt into shape.

T-minus 2 days til 1/2 marathon...

Yikes!  It's been an interesting week of fighting a cold and weird "anytime sickness"...yeah, at any given time I've been feeling sick.

But, we'll see how it goes.  Kim and I head up to the north woods on Saturday afternoon to register and have a home cooked meal by my sister & brother-in-law.  It's funny, I'm crossing my fingers on a good night of sleep with the house full that we're going to have (me, kim, anna (my sister), eric (brother-in-law), kyle (brother), amanda (sister-in-law), gabe (nephew 4), and Rowan (nephew 1)!

my 1st bailey's of the year...

both yummy and a little sad.  went on a 10 mile run it the rain and win.  rock on kim-- i wouldn't have done that crazy biz alone.

but, as one could guess, I've been freezing ever since.  it's never a good thing when you can't feel the tips of your thumbs...

so my roomie was awesome and made bailey's and hot chocolate. mmmm. tis' the season.

walk on water...

well, almost.  I can ski!!

oh yes, it's true and so glorious.  yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous labor day, especially to be boating.

how: well, I have to give some credit to john, who is a fantastic boat driver...and props to hannah (age 8) who showed me how it's done.  On my first attempt, i got up and fell almost immediately, but the 2nd try was a charm.  It was soo fun, had one pretty bad wipeout where I thought I broke my jaw and fractured my shin, but wow, I'm a fan.  Soon, I'll be dropping a ski...and next summer I'll conquer jumps and maybe even start my own ski show=)
