PaY iT ForWaRD

Typical me, trying to multi-task at the grocery store...talking on the phone, trying to shop, and doing self checkout at the same time...yeah doesn't work.

So, I get off the phone, complete the checkout and go to work.  It's the afternoon and I'm like "Where the heck is my phone?!?"...all of a sudden ***FLASHBACK*** I see myself at the the self check-out and I totally set my phone down and left it!! CRAP...

So, like 5:30, go to Pick 'n Save after work, ask their services center if anyone turned in a phone...Nope.

Grrr.  I was like, "well, maybe someone picked it up but just forgot to turn it in and will later..." at this point I was frustrated but still had a little hope...

So, I go to dinner with my neighbor Pete, and he's like "mosh, did you not understand my joke when I texted you?"....my response "what are you talking about - I left my phone at Pick n Save around 8am"...his response "well, you texted me at 10:30 and 11:00"...

now, I'm flaming....the nerve...the audacity...not only did this hoodlum steal my phone but they are replying to my texts!!! what next?

basically, it ruined my night...I was so pissed, devastated, and just felt lost.  went to bed early, grumbling....even had a dream that my front 4 top teeth and bottom one keep falling out.. (that sucked too)

So, this morning...I declared that I would not be down about this any longer!!  Worse things can happen...it's just a cell phone...i can regain most numbers...I'll just be out some money and time - fine.  Just call me Patty Positive.  I even left the culprit a voice mail on my phone...if they were texting, they were probably listening to my messages too...so I asked them kindly to return my phone to Pick n Save and I would be extremely grateful.

So, I go to work and have an e-mail from Cal...it says..."hey, i know you lost your phone...i called you at 4:30 and this lady called me back - her son had found your phone at pick 'n save and he gave me her number"....

honestly - i wanted to scream and dance!  how cool?!?  Yes!!!  Woo-hoo...joy, joy, joy, down in my heart.

Lesson learned:  if you find something, please turn it in...someone out there is fretting.  I can't wait to return the favor to society (ok, that sounded a little cheesy but I'm so serious).  So, just like that little guy who saw dead people (i'm totally blanking on his name) did - PAY IT FORWARD.

Phashionable...

Oh yes, I made up this new word today!  Please use only in the appropriate scenario...if you see a shirt or perhaps a pair of shoes that you CANNOT live without - this is a case of fashion with a "ph."

"phat" is so yesterday.  Hello Phasionable.

Project Runway Winner...Christian!

Gosh, this was a nail biter...ever since I saw Jack carry Christian in his hand bag on the way up to the work room - I knew I loved this little guy...

As I watched the finale, I was so nevous, I thought both Jillian's and Rami's collections were amazing...I seriously did not know what the judges were going to do...

Both Jillian and Rami will be successful no matter if they won or lost, so I was so happy to see the deserving Christian take the title.  It's amazing to see the talent in this "fierce" 21 year old.  I'm so excited to see what he does...

With so much excitement...I am also so sad to see my favorite show come to an end...thank God Top Chef Chicago is coming our way to fill this 9:00 time slot on my Wednesday night=)

Thought For Food...rocked!

3 great things:  live music, beer, and giving to charity!

Racine had it's annual Thoughts for Food and it was an amazing time.  For $15 and 2 non perishable food items, you could get in 10 different bars each with 4 bands in time slots from 7-2am.  My favorite stop was Coasters - hosting both 89 Mojo and Radioactive Squirrels.  If you get a chance, both play in the Kenosha/Racine area probably monthly!

Check out mojo in action:

Great Book: the Lovely Bones

Lovely_bones I absolutley loved this book.  It's disturbing as you read the first paragraph, but the the story is interesting and intriguing.

It's a good read on a subject that is heavy on your heart.  Honestly, after a book like this, I need to read something totally fun.  My current page turner is Everyone Worth Knowing - same author as the Devil Wears Prada=)

Drink it up...

TEA! It's a new "like" not quite love of mine, but I'm enjoying it more and more each day...

Honestly, I don't know that much about it, but one tiny mug full is fantastic for your heath! My drink of choice is Tension Tamer by Celestial Seasonings...it's yummy, and so cheap - woo!  I really don't know if it tames my tension or even if my tension needs to be tamed, but I love the taste.  I also just love drinking hot things - especially when it's freezing outside!

Plus, so many options are caffeine-free, bu-yah to that because i'm a diet soda feign come late afternoon.

So drink it up fools - it's good for you=)

When bliss runneth dry...

Today marks the whoppin', drum roll please....2 month anniversary of my boyfriend and I.  Feels like longer (in a good way) because we got to spend basically a week vaca together over Christmas/New Years...

Anyway, this past week was not so merry.  It's like the blinders are off and we're beginning to see each others flaws...it's funny how when you first start dating, flaws are cute and even funny, but honesty - you get over it...

For instance, my bf is very clean and anal...i am not.  Enough said. Oh, and likes to explain things to me like I'm 5. (but the truth is that he is just so smart and normally i do need an explanation, but come on, give me a little credit)

So, it's been interesting because, again, we've only been dating for 2 months, so when things get weird and awkward...oh man...they're very weird, and I do not know how to handle situations like that=)

By the way, I have this wonderful quality that when I feel weird, I CANNOT hide it...I make the situation and both our lives even weirder and more miserable...thanks mom - did I get this quality from you?  j/k

But good news - we had a "normal" "unweird" and "nice" night last night...so maybe the curse is over!

to be continued....

(I know the suspense is killing you, but honestly I don't feel bad - imagine how I feel.)

Some things make you feel like a kid!

nothing like snow to bring back some of the joys of playing and just being young.  Last night, when sledding for the first time in years...I just couldn't help but laugh all the way down the hill - every single time...loved it, just ate it up.  And you know when you get to the bottom of the hill after wiping out, and it's just fun to lay there and catch your breath...letting the snow hit your face...

What is the only thing better than lots of snow?  Getting a snow day!!  Nothing like a forced cancellation due to blizzard conditions that just makes you smile.  Cheers to a morning of pj wearing, coffee sipping, and doing work from your living room=)

p.s. if your not as lucky and forced to drive today...please be safe!
